About this course

Berlo’s Model has mainly, four components to describe the communication process. They are sender, message, channel and receiver. The model also focuses on encoding and decoding which happens before sender sends the message and before receiver receives the message respectively. To ensure the message is conveyed as effectively as possible, the sender and the receiver must share some common ground.

This model is affected by factors such as; culture, knowledge and attitude are also vital. What may be considered rude in some cultures, may be perfectly fine in others. Communication doesn’t always go as smoothly as one would hope.
