About this course

The quality of focus groups outcome depends on their discussion. Participants must be comfortable enough to interact openly. The line of questioning used in focus groups, known as the questioning route or the interview guide or protocol, is predetermined and follows a logical sequence that is intended to mimic a natural exchange.

Moderators avoid abrupt changes of direction or topic, and they are careful to ensure that all participants in the focus group have input and contribute as equally as possible.
